I'm a counsellor and neurodivergence coach. I specialise in supporting parents of autistic or neurodivergent children, any age.
I know the landscape first hand, as I have 3 of my own neurodivergent teenagers.
One of whom we educated at home for 5 years as he couldn't manage in school.
I know the mainstream and alternative education system very well.
I help parents support their child to get their needs met, issues with boundaries, siblings, friendships and creating family harmony where there's been discord and stress.
All emotions are very welcome. Parents often come feeling:
- grief they're parenting a child who's different from their expectations,
- guilt at even thinking that,
- fears or low self belief that they can change their parenting, given their own childhood trauma and experiences.
I give space to explore these feelings with acceptance and compassion; clients choose to release them when they're ready to write a different story.
I combine counselling with practical coaching, so parents go away clear and confident they can change the dynamics at home and create the loving family relationships they seek.
